Nicole Monteleone, MA, LPC, NCC believes that every individual has limitless potential to heal, grow, change beyond mental health issues that are plaguing them. As co-founder and COO of The Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh and Monroeville, Nicole resumes both managerial responsibilities and clinical responsibilities. She manages a team of over 20 therapists and serves as a senior psychotherapist with vast experience in treating a variety of emotional and mental health needs. As your therapist, she strives to help you unlock your capabilities to achieve wellness, happiness, and balance in your life. Nicole’s therapeutic approach is gentle, compassionate, and insight driven. You as the client, and Nicole as your therapist, will work together to create learning experiences to change your behavior and achieve your desired outcomes for emotional and psychological well-being. Therapy is a process that will help you honor your inner mystic and nourish your soul’s longing for growth and intimate communication. Nicole’s clinical style provides a welcoming, judgment free and interactive space for every individual’s self-exploration and self-actualization. Nicole’s clinical specialties include, but are not limited to: substance use and late stage recovery, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, intimacy and sexuality, LBGTQIA issues, stress management, and chronic mental health issues. Her varied evidence based therapeutic approaches are humanistic and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and also including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Expressive Arts Therapy. Nicole is proudly a LBGTQIA affirmative, and sex positive therapist who is inclusive in serving the therapeutic needs of all members of Western Pennsylvania. Nicole’s academic track began as she earned her Bachelor’s in psychology from Duquesne University, she then went on to receive her and Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Geneva College. After the university, Nicole entered the clinical world, serving patients in management and clinical capacities at both UPMC, and Mercy, as well as a number of Substance Recovery Treatment Centers. Nicole brings over 14 years of direct care experience treating and interacting with individuals with demanding and ever changing needs. Nicole is quoted as saying that she is honored to have gained such extensive clinical experience from each of the dynamic healthcare settings throughout the Pittsburgh area prior to entering private practice and co-founding this center. Nicole has an abundant and effective wellness plan, including physical fitness, meditation, and journaling. In her personal time Nicole loves to practice yoga, to go on long meandering hikes, camping under the stars and anything that involves connecting with her husband, many friends, and large family. She looks forward to starting this journey towards a richer and fuller life with you. Nicole accepts Highmark (BCBS), UPMC, Magellan, Tricare, United, Cigna, and self paying clients and sees clients in the Pittsburgh Center as well as offering online skype counseling.
