What’s your role at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh, and what led you to join the team?
Hi, I’m Gunny Carpenter-Griffin. I am the TMS Certified Clinical Medical Assistant with the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh in Greensburg. I joined the TMS Treatment team because I pride myself in mental health advocacy and believe that everyone deserves exceptional care, no matter their situation. I’ve seen first hand how life-changing TMS treatment can be, and I’m excited to be a part of that journey for our community.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of supporting the TMS Treatment team?
The most rewarding part of supporting the TMS Treatment Team is knowing that my work helps make the journey easier for clients. Being a calm, organized, and welcoming point of contact allows me to support TMS treatment clients during vulnerable moments, and it’s incredibly meaningful to see clients improve on a daily basis knowing I’ve played a small part in that progress.
What is your favorite thing about working at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh?
My favorite thing about working with CWC is how client-centered they are. Regardless of what someone needs, we’re there for them. Being part of a team that values dignity, collaboration, and holistic care is something I find deeply rewarding.
Describe your ideal mental health self-care routine after a busy workday.
After a busy workday, I prioritise spending quality time with my service dog, Runa, whose companionship helps me decompress and stay grounded. I also enjoy unwinding with a good book, which gives me time to slow down, reflect, and recharge.
