

Dr. Monica Conn, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), certified registered nurse practitioner (CRNP) believes in a holistic, body-mind-spirit approach to mental wellness while following evidence-based practices for optimal treatment outcomes. Starting medication can be a big decision and medication management is a helpful tool for continued wellbeing.
Dr. Conn specializes in treatment of anxiety and depressive disorders and is experienced in treating bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, eating disorders, panic disorder, addiction and personality disorders. She has published research in the Archives of Psychiatric Nursing, titled, “Anxiety management in Primary Care: Implementing the National Institute of Clinical Excellence Guidelines”. She believes in patient-centered care, and that mental wellbeing can evolve through different paths.
Dr. Conn received her Bachelors in Nursing from the Pennsylvania State University after studying at the University Park and Hershey Med Center campuses in 2010. She has worked as a registered nurse at Presbyterian hospital in the Neuro trauma step down unit and at Mercy Hospital’s inpatient psychiatric unit.
She pursued a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Robert Morris University, graduating in 2015. She is a nationally board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP), and expertly trained to treat patients in all ages of life. As a nurse practitioner, she has worked in community mental health and private practice.
Dr. Conn is originally from the north of Pittsburgh, PA, and lives in Wexford with her family. She enjoys spending time with her two amazing young kids, adored husband, and dog.
The initial 1-hour long intake must be completed in person at our Pittsburgh location. Twenty minute recurring follow up appointments can be done virtually.
Dr. Conn accepts Aetna and United currently. UPMC, Highmark and other options coming soon.
In order to receive medication management and psychiatric services at our practice, we require active participation in counseling at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh.
