Julie Wilson, MS, Therapist
We’ll figure this out together. Life is not always easy, especially when you’re trying to manage everything on your own. It can be hard to know where to start or what direction to take next, and at times it may feel like you’re carrying more than you can handle.
I work with adults, teens, and adolescents, as well as couples and families navigating a wide range of life challenges, including life transitions counseling for those facing major changes in relationships, career, or identity. As a second-career therapist, I have both professional training and real-life experience, and I use both to support you in a way that feels practical and meaningful. I understand that reaching out for support can feel difficult, and I aim to meet you in a way that feels comfortable, supportive, and genuine from the start.
At times, these experiences are more common than we realize. Being overwhelmed, feeling stuck, or disconnected from yourself, your relationships, or your sense of direction are things many people face. You don’t need to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. This is something we can take the time to understand and work through together.
In our work, you can expect a space where you feel heard, respected, and not judged. I use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while keeping things flexible and centered around what feels most helpful to you. Therapy doesn’t always have to feel heavy. Sometimes stepping back, gaining perspective, or even sharing a moment of humor can make things feel more manageable and open the door to change. My focus is on getting to know you as a person, not just a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. Together, we will explore your experiences, better understand patterns that may be impacting you, and work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
I also recognize that life today brings unique challenges. Many people are balancing work demands, relationships, family responsibilities, and unexpected life events while dealing with constant connection, comparison, and outside expectations that intensify stress and self-doubt. My goal is not just to help you get through difficult moments, but to support you in feeling more confident, grounded, and connected in your everyday life.
Specialties
I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, substance use, grief, communication difficulties, and life transitions counseling.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of my professional work, I am a wife and a mother, and I value spending time with my family. I enjoy attending my son’s football, wrestling, and baseball games, listening to music, and learning about different cultures. These parts of my life help me stay balanced and connected, which I believe is an important part of overall well-being.
