The Counseling & Wellness Center of Pittsburgh welcomes all genders and sexualities. We are always proud to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and unity. We believe the LGBTQIA community deserves to be supported and affirmed in their identity and to have meaningful access to mental health support and resources.
In LGBTQ Therapy, clients can speak confidentially with a therapist who is familiar with issues facing people of diverse sexualities and genders. We place value on the sociocultural factors that play a role in internalizing, reacting to, and coping with various stressors and traumatic events. Our LGBTQ Therapists believe that clinical therapy is not only for those who have experienced adversities, but it is also helpful for self-exploration and the goal of maturation.
Our LGBTQ Therapists have worked with a diverse group of clients including individuals, couples, or triads that are part of the LGBTQ, kink, and poly communities and those with ‘non-traditional’ relationships. We also help trans persons seeking hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgery and support clients with gender identity and expression in a non-judgmental way. We strive to foster a supportive and nurturing environment to help clients feel comfortable while working together and creating a safe space for the client to open up.
