

In her therapy practice, Kaitlin Uniejewski MA, NCC, LPC uses Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Person-Centered Therapy. She adapts these interventions through the course of therapy to meet the needs of each individual paying special attention to self compassion at each step along the way.
Kaitlin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2014 and her Masters Degree in Community Counseling from West Virginia University in 2016. She has worked with adults of all ages, adolescents, couples, and families on a variety of issues including, trauma, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, shame, guilt, self esteem and stress.

Kaitlin offers a counseling style that is grounded, warm, and down to earth. She believes that counseling is a lot like a garden and her job is to help you weed out the negative beliefs or unhealthy patterns in order to make room for fresh soil and healthier, more adaptive ways of thinking and behaving. Her job is to meet you with an open heart and a listening ear.
Kaitlin has always been fascinated by the resiliency in humans which she continues to highlight for her clients to this day. She acknowledges the courage in takes in asking for help and values that you’ve made the choice to dig into the dirt and have the hard conversations.
Kaitlin’s German Shepherd Hank is a certified therapy dog through Therapy Dogs United. Hank and Kaitlin are excited to continue his work at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh as well as visiting other hospitals/nursing homes in the area.
Kaitlin is a nature lover and an adventurer. She has a passion for traveling and experiencing new cities with different cultures. At her happiest you’ll find her hiking the mountains of West Virginia with her fur child, Hank.
