Jacob Nutter
Young Adult Therapy
Hi, my name is Jacob. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in the Pittsburgh area, offering outpatient therapy for teens (14+), adults, couples, and families. I earned my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) from Chatham University in August 2023, and I’m passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where you can explore what matters most to you — whether you’re navigating a major life transition, figuring out who you are, or just trying to get through the day.
I blend modalities like CBT, psychodynamic therapy, person-centered care, family systems, emotion-focused therapy, and structural family therapy to meet you right where you are. Whether you’re a teen navigating big feelings, an individual working through anxiety or patterns from the past, a couple strengthening your connection, or a family seeking better harmony, my style is collaborative, gentle, and real. Together, we’ll build practical insights and tools that actually fit your life.
I especially enjoy supporting clients through emotional regulation, depression and anxiety, relationship struggles, family and individual trauma, self-doubt, and complex family dynamics. No matter your story, I believe in your capacity for growth and I strive to create a judgment-free space to unpack it all.
Clients often say sessions with me feel like talking with a trusted guide who’s both affirming and straightforward. If you’re ready for change that lasts, I’d be honored to join you on that path.
Education and Experience
Jacob earned his Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) from Chatham University in August 2023. He brings experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, drawing from evidence-based methods and genuine empathy to help clients slow down, understand their experiences, and take actionable steps forward.
Hobbies & Interests
As an ADHDer himself, Jacob embraces a good rabbit hole and the occasional hyperfixation. He deeply enjoys music, video games, and reading murder mystery novels. When he’s not in session, you’ll likely find him spending time with family and friends — or attempting to negotiate bedtime with his two guinea pigs, Moose and Nubi, using a combination of carrots, lettuce, and cherry tomatoes.
