Kristin Hochard, LPC, LSW, CAADC, CCDP-D, is an experienced and dedicated therapist in Wexford, holding licenses as a professional counselor and a social worker. She is also a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor and a certified co-occurring disorders professional-diplomate. With over 13 years of expertise in outpatient mental health and drug and alcohol therapy, Kristin is committed to providing compassionate and effective care.
Kristin brings a comprehensive approach to her practice. She specializes in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, fostering an environment where clients can empower themselves to achieve positive change. Education and Experience
Kristin began her educational journey with an Associate’s Degree in Funeral Service Management at the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science as well as her diploma in embalming and funeral service. She completed her undergraduate degree in Specialized Business and Funeral Service through Point Park University. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Psychology from Chatham University. She earned her second Master’s Degree in social work through the University of New England.
Kristin’s experience includes many years of community mental health working with those who have severe and persistent mental illness, addiction issues as well as those involved in the legal system. She also has experience working in community corrections helping those involved in the legal system to change criminal thinking errors and overcome their barriers to making lasting change. Her experience in funeral service as well as a previous career as a certified nursing assistant has helped to foster her compassion and empathy in working with others to make changes in their lives.
Hobbies and Interests
Kristin spends her downtime with her husband and her two cats, Lucy and Sunny. Kristin considers herself to be a “foodie” and enjoys fine dining with her husband as often as she can. She also enjoys being “bubby” to her two granddaughters. Her hobbies include traveling, going to concerts, reading and listening to true crime podcasts.
