With specialty training in both in Gut Health and Emotional Eating, Lori’s knowledge is relevant to a wide variety of clients. The catch-phrase gut health is being touted everywhere these days, but what does it really mean and how does it affect your overall health? Together, you and Lori can answer these questions with regards to your unique and bio-individual needs by targeting your gut health, helping to support a healthy microbiome, and in turn, supporting the gut-brain connection which plays a critical role in mental health and wellness. While all of this sounds like a monumental task, Lori’s methodical approach of small steps over a long period of time take all the fear out of this process.
When it comes to Emotional Eating, Lori takes this aspect of coaching very personally, as she has also struggled with using food as a means to stifle emotions. With an arsenal of tools in her toolkit, Lori is able to help clients identify hindering habits and swap them with new ways to manage emotions. We all have foods that evoke nostalgia and happiness, after all smell is the most powerful sense associated with memory. But that doesn’t mean that Grandma’s french toast is going to make all of our problems disappear. Getting to the root cause of why we are seeking comfort through food is complex process, but well worth the effort. And in leaning into this process, Lori helps her clients restructure their mindset around nourishment.
Before Lori entered the world of health coaching, she graced the stages of numerous theatres across the county as a musical theatre performer. From theme parks, cruise ships, regional theatres, and off-Broadway, Lori brought characters to life through song and dance. After giving birth to her daughter Grace, she retired from traveling and became a mom full-time. Grace was unexpectedly born with Down Syndrome, which guided Lori to explore the connection between food and development. From making her own baby food to help support Grace’s growth, Lori began researching the powerful impact that whole foods can have on your health. And now she is honored to have the opportunity to share this passion with her clients, knowing that creating a holistic approach to wellness has a compelling impact on your quality of life.
