Eva Piatrova
Sliding Scale Therapy
As an intern psychotherapist at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh Eva Piatrova, MS, is proud to offer sliding scale therapy because we believe that financial hardships should not stand in the way of mental health treatment. Therapy can be life changing and everyone should have access to sliding scale therapy.
Eva, a former athlete and professional dancer, discovered her passion for counseling while coaching and rehabilitating athletes. Recognizing the significance of addressing both physical and emotional struggles, she decided to extend her guidance in both areas. Working as a coach for almost two decades, she was determined to guide others through their physical development and life experiences.
Becoming a clinical mental health professional was a natural progression in her career development so Eva pursued a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Walden University, MN. Her coursework in psychopathology, counseling theories, and assessment techniques provides a robust foundation for understanding and treating mental health disorders. Her education made her proficient in evidence-based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, art therapy, gestalt therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches. She is proud to offer individual, couples therapy and sex therapy.
Eva is passionate about helping clients find the right tools to use throughout life and the challenges it brings. Eva believes everyone can heal. It is a question of how well-equipped the person is with the right tools to manage stress. In her professional work, she values collaboration, embracing similarities and differences, unconditional support, and freedom to be yourself. She believes that learning people’s worldviews and narratives is crucial in building strong counseling relationships.

Eva was born in Germany and raised in Belarus. She was able to explore different cultures and traditions by traveling all over the world. It has most definitely impacted her counseling approach to address diversity in any shape or form. Being bilingual helped her serve many people who do not feel comfortable expressing themselves in their native language. Eva will gladly assist those who are seeking a Russian-speaking counselor.
