Billie Jo Lewis, M.A., N.C.C., LPC has a passion for helping people who are hurting, confused, or suffering from issues life has brought to them. Even when it is extremely uncomfortable, or even devastating, through therapy a person can come to understand how pain has a purpose and that it can even provide an opportunity for change. Change is one of those things that is exceedingly difficult and hard to navigate, but with help and support it is possible. Billie Jo has significant experience dealing with issues surrounding trauma, a subject that is ever increasing but often ignored. She has several years of experience treating addiction, substance abuse, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, women’s issues, PTSD, and many other life problems or difficulty situations. When working with couples and families, Billie Jo feels that healthy communication is the key to building robust connections and resilient relationships. She uses a variety of evidence-based interventions to work with you through whatever you are struggling with. Billie Jo believes in everyone’s power to heal themselves through a journey to self.
Her approach to therapy is person centered using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques and more, she is also working toward MARI certification. The Mandala Assessment Research Instrument (MARI) is a Jungian instrument based on symbols and colors that are chosen intuitively. When displayed on the developmental template of the Great Round, these symbols and colors reveal a visual picture of one’s psyche. MARI is an eye-opening assessment tool that gives both therapist and client insight into the problems that can be linked to symptoms such as depression and anxiety.
