Samantha Lalama
Samantha Lalama, MS, NCC, Trauma-Informed RYT-200 is a well-studied and compassionate mental health clinician offering comprehensive mental health services. Sam values an integrative approach to therapy which allows her to tailor her treatment methods to work best with each individual as no two people are the same. Focusing on a holistic point of view, Sam encourages self-discovery through the mind, body, relationships, spirituality, thoughts, and emotions. A large part of Sam’s work includes mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy which aids in connecting thoughts and emotions to promote healthy behavior.
Sam is a certified ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan. She has done extensive work with couples, encouraging them to break through barriers that create stagnancy and conflict within the relationship through the Gottman Method. As a sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neurodivergent affirming clinician, Sam creates a safe and inclusive space for all clients.
Sam, Manager of Somatic and Integrative Services, is a Trauma-Informed Certified Yoga Instructor through the Yoga Alliance as well as a breathwork, meditation, and Ayurvedic coach, and Reiki practitioner. Sam’s unique approach to therapy is transformative for individuals’ overall well-being given the emphasis of the mind, body, soul connection. Sam aims to empower clients to achieve total wellness.
Education and Experience
Sam began her career in the mental health field upon graduating from Point Park University with a bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences in 2019. Sam worked as an in-home family therapist working with children and families for nearly 4 years. After graduating with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Duquesne University, Sam began working in private practice providing quality care to children, families, couples, and adults. Sam is currently pursuing a PhD at Duquesne University in counselor education and supervision to deepen her therapeutic education and better serve her clients.
Hobbies and Interestes
During her free time, Sam enjoys the company of her feline companions, Boots and Spider, exploring the offerings of nearby coffee shops, engaging in yoga practice, or immersing herself in the pages of a captivating book.
