Rayeann Milne
Behavior Therapist
Rayeann Milne (she/her) is a Behavior Analyst and Counseling Intern who is seeking licensure as a Professional Counselor and Behavior Therapist. With over 16 years of experience working with children and families, Rayeann is passionate about helping others achieve their full potential. She believes that each client is the expert in their own life, but that we all need help navigating life from time to time!
Rayeann has a passion for helping people understand how their current thoughts and behaviors hold them back, and she frequently utilizes Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) to help clients better understand the function of their behaviors. Rayeann has extensive experience working with individuals who have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and/or attention deficit disorder (ADD), anxiety, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, anger management issues, social skills delays, parenting challenges, trauma, and autism spectrum disorder.
In addition, Rayeann is passionate about helping individuals process their grief, whether it’s from the loss of a loved one, a terminal diagnosis, or simply the grief of life not working out the way they wanted. She is highly skilled in trauma-informed care, life-transition, behavior modification, emotional regulation, child development, and crisis management.
Rayeann utilizes a combination of Person-Centered and Solution-Focused approaches to help individuals highlight their inner strengths and to identify solutions to the problems in their life. By providing genuineness, congruence, and unconditional positive regard to her clients, Rayeann collaborates with them to help them set goals for change. Rayeann incorporates several treatment modalities into her sessions including talk therapy, rating scales, journaling, CBT, deep breathing and meditation and mindfulness activities.
Education and Experience
Rayeann began her academic career at Allegheny College where she completed a double Major in Communication Arts and Psychology. She continued her education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she obtained her Master’s in School Counseling. During her time as a school counselor, Rayeann became interested in the use of positive behavior supports, which led her to further her education at Penn State University where she obtained training in the use of Applied Behavior Analysis and became a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst in 2020. Rayeann has worked as a school counselor and, most recently, in various roles within the Intensive Behavioral Health Service (IBHS) industry, including as a Behavior Health Technician, Mobile Therapist, Behavioral Consultant, and Supervisor.
Hobbies and Interests
In her free time, Rayeann enjoys trying new restaurants, watching reality television, and cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions. She also enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, and every moment she spends with her husband, Brian, and their fur-baby, Neko.
Counseling Intern
Working with a Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh intern means you’ll get direct support from a counselor in training backed by an entire team of experts! The intern will get the experience they need to help even more people, and you will get support from a group of amazing therapists. All of our interns offer Sliding Scale Therapy.
