Leslie Holland
My name is Leslie Holland, MSRC, LMHC, LPC. I specialize in guiding individuals and couples through life’s transitions and challenges, actively partnering with them on their journey toward emotional and relational well-being. I deeply respect my clients and find great fulfillment in collaborating with them through the therapeutic process. In my practice I embrace an integrative style approach to psychotherapy by incorporating Client-Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Gottman Therapy for couples. Adopting these comprehensive approaches helps to empower people as they achieve breakthroughs in generational patterns and increase authentic self-integration.
Change can be scary but also exciting as a new and healthy self or relationship begins to emerge. This process starts when a person becomes aware that it is actually more painful to remain the same than the risk it takes to change for the better. Many times, one can feel isolated and alone in their inner pain—as if they are the only person suffering privately and asking themselves, ‘What is wrong with me?’ However, a person is not alone and likely not as unique in their discomfort as they might imagine. This is why having a therapist who is compassionate, wise, and skilled at navigating one’s struggles is so vital to the healing process. Becoming one’s better self happens by progressively making the necessary adjustments in their life towards higher functioning and ultimately happiness.
I provide a safe and warm atmosphere for my clients so they can freely express their genuine thoughts and emotions. I personally commend each client’s courage who participate in counseling to make the challenging changes at a time when they may feel most defeated. I am an active counselor – I will not just sit back and nod my head. My clients and I team together to find solutions for problems and lasting healing. I counsel with an eclectic style, and treat every client with their own individual treatment process – no “one size fits all here!”.
Education and Experience
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania, I bring a wealth of experience and education to my practice. I earned my Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, and my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the same institution. In addition to my academic background, I have had the privilege of appearing on television stations to discuss mental health issues and interact directly with viewers by answering their questions live on air.
Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy reading for relaxation, exploring art fairs for creative inspiration, traveling to discover new cultures, staying active with Jazzercise, and attending music concerts for memorable experiences.
