

Lori Haller, MA, LPC, NCC, offers individual, couples and family therapy in The Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh’s Northside offices. She also has experience with a variety of family structures, including foster, adoptive, single parent and transracial families. In the past she has led groups for female survivors of domestic violence, parents who have children with exceptionalism and teenage girls to work on self empowerment and conflict resolution. Lori has a special interest in providing therapy and family therapy to men in an effort to aid them in developing parenting strategies that promote gender equality.
Lori is proud to provide solutions and support to her clients. She knows that counseling offers people a unique opportunity to work in collaboration with their therapist to take the time needed to focus on solution oriented self-exploration in the creation of holistic wellness. Lori has seen incredible change and growth happen within the lives of the clients with whom she has worked. Lori is eager to help you experience the capacity for incredible change that results when you begin the counseling process.
When meeting with Lori you can expect to experience a safe and welcoming environment. She takes a strengths based approach meaning, she helps clients identify their own strengths and work to resolve challenges using those characteristics. Lori values taking a collaborative approach with clients, working together to create goals, and assessing progress towards the goals together through the therapeutic relationship. She strongly believes that clients are the experts on their own lives, and that her role as a counselor is to work along side clients providing space for challenging topics and experiences to be explored.
Lori earned Bachelors degrees in Sociology and Anthropology as well as a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Lori has a robust history of excellence in helping others heal through her efforts in the human services field. She has worked in the human service field for over 10 years. She has experience working with people who are facing challenges with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, domestic violence, social justice, behavioral challenges, parenting, postpartum experiences, and finding work and life balance.
Lori also has experience working with people from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds and is honored to provide an inclusive framework in counseling refugees and immigrants from all over the world. Lori is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and will soon be certified in trauma informed yoga. In addition to these skills, she utilizes CBT, Mindfulness practices, DBT, and Solutions Focused modalities.
In her personal time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling and taking walks with her family and their two dogs, as well as enjoying the many wonderful things that Pittsburgh has to offer, including parks, museums, the zoo, sporting events and restaurants. Lori practices many of the skills she assists clients with for her own well-being. These skills include mindfulness, breath-work, an active but balanced lifestyle and a focus on overall wellness and self development.
