Online Grief Support Group
Welcome to the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh’s Online Grief Support Group, an empathetic space designed to assist those who have experienced the profound loss of a loved one.
Why Should I Join A Grief Support Group?
If you’re grappling with the heavy weight of loss, navigating the path of grief can be an isolating and overwhelming journey. This is where a grief support group becomes a lifeline, a sanctuary where your pain is not only understood but shared by others who have walked similar paths.
In a grief support group, your emotions find validation. The sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion you feel aren’t anomalies; they’re part of the universal language of grief. Here, judgment has no place, and you’re free to express yourself openly, surrounded by those who comprehend the depth of your sorrow.
Your grief is deeply personal, and even more so because there are many types of loss, such as sudden, unexpected traumatic events, medical complications, terminal illness, pet loss, relationship or marriage dissolution, pregnancy loss, loss of spirituality/faith, or health decline due to chronic illness. Yet, the communal nature of support groups helps you find a sense of belonging. You’re not alone on this journey; others are walking with you. In the stories of resilience and healing shared within these groups, you’ll discover that life can be rebuilt after loss, even if the scars of grief linger.
