
Laura Jones, MS, LPC, NCC, acknowledges the complexity of the human experience and works with clients and couples to create and nurture an existence that is fulfilling, intentional, and authentic. She strives to encourage clients to gain insight and be in harmony with themselves and the world around them. She works with individuals and couples experiencing a vast array of emotional concerns including depression, anxiety, grief, anger, trauma, and intimacy and the myriad of relationship difficulties.
Laura’s approach to therapy is multifaceted and eclectic with a strong foundation in humanistic therapy. She places emphasis on the positive traits and behaviors of the couple or client, and collaborates to enhance their ability to use their personal instincts. Through counseling you or your relationship will be empowered to cultivate your inner wisdom, growth, healing, and fulfillment. Laura acknowledges and honors the fully capable human we all have inside of ourselves, and works with people to recognize that within themselves.
Laura was born and raised in Pittsburgh and graduated with a BA from Indiana University (Bloomington). Upon graduating, she spent two years living and working abroad, establishing local community centers and working to uplift impoverished communities in Central and South America. She returned to Pittsburgh to continue her education at Duquesne University, where she graduated with a Masters of Education in Counseling. Laura has an extensive history of working in different therapeutic settings. She has worked in outpatient and inpatient facilities, as well as school settings. She has extensive history working with individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents. Laura is currently a school counselor at an independent K-8 school, and is filled with gratitude at the opportunity to return to work with individuals and couples in a private setting.
