What’s your role at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh, and what led you to join the team?
Hi, I’m Hena Anwar, Chief Operations Officer. I always say that I am the sherpa on the CWC journey as I am the point of contact for all general inquiries, guiding our team and clients with a focus on operational excellence. I joined Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh because I deeply align with our mission to enhance the well-being of our community. At CWC, our primary goal is to support and uplift those we serve, and we continuously seek innovative ways to achieve this mission.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of supporting the administrative side of mental health services?
Working alongside the amazing providers and watching them help their clients become more confident and self assured is most rewarding. I am grateful that I get to learn about the different specialities that makes each provider unique in their treatment approach. I also am able to collaborate with the administrative staff on improving methods and seeing the empathy that brings us all together is incredible.
What is your favorite thing about working at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh?
What inspires me most is the incredible people I work with. Although I’m based out of our therapy practice Pittsburgh location, I have the privilege of collaborating with providers and staff across all our locations—Monroeville, Cranberry, Greensburg, South Hills, Wexford, and our online & remote team. Witnessing their compassion, dedication, and genuine commitment to helping others is truly rewarding. It might sound like a cliché, but CWC really does feel like a second home, thanks to the shared empathy and support that brings us all together.
Describe your ideal mental health self-care routine after a busy workday.
Spending time with people I love in a low pressure environment. I am very happy just being on the couch with my husband and cats and watching a scary movie/thriller shows.
