Jeffrey Morales
Counseling Services in Cranberry PA
Jeffrey Morales, LCSW, is a therapist in Pennsylvania who provides counseling services in Cranberry PA for individuals and couples. Versed in clinical work with several different populations, Jeffrey has experience treating depression, anxiety, substance use, grief, trauma and relationship issues. He has a background in applying and training to use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and the Gottman Method for couples.
Trust, comfort and a sense of progression are key tenets Jeffrey strives to materialize in sessions with his clients. Telling someone else about what troubles them can be scary, maybe intimidating, but easing this process and discovering fulfilling breakthroughs are what Jeffrey finds fruitful in fostering relationships with clients.
Jeffrey works with cerebrally inclined adults and teens, giving attention to their needs when racing thoughts and perfectionism distract from attainable goals. He helps clients process existential dread and acceptance of unforeseen life events with humanistic, person-centered approaches. He uses mindfulness exercises, meditation and structured cognitive-behavioral prompts to collaborate with clients in developing the architecture for a healthy lifestyle that suits their unique needs.
He wants his clients to consider their time together as a study group with their own holistic well being as the main subject and the pop-quiz as everyday life issues or complications. Jeffrey wants to offer the chance for going on a journey of self-discovery as a team—a team that will find answers that are not one-size-fits-all. Jeffrey approaches his clients with unconditional positive regard, or the perspective that anyone willing to engage in the therapeutic process has worthwhile issues for processing no matter what their circumstances.
Education and Experience
Graduating with a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California, Jeffrey made a clear decision in pursuing a career and passion for service to others. Growing up in Southern California, Jeffrey learned respect and appreciation for a diversity of ethnic backgrounds, cultures and socio-economic realities around him. Jeffrey graduated with a degree in Philosophy from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon believing that it was a stepping stone to practicing law and serving the public good. However, life had other plans and Jeffrey instead applied his practiced skills of critical thinking, language and reserving judgment before assuming to directly partner with clients in building a healthier psychological landscape.
With specialized training in treating substance abuse, serious mental illness and managing healthy aging for adults throughout their life course, Jeffrey has an array of knowledge gained from jumping into rigorous positions headfirst. Working in community mental health agencies, hospitals and retirement communities, he jointly navigated challenges alongside patients during times of their greatest need.
Hobbies and Interests
When he has time for himself, Jeffrey enjoys reading top ten articles, watching science-fiction movies and listening to podcasts about his niche hobbies. Such niche hobbies include: collecting and restoring vintage fountain pens, trading decades old video games at local establishments and sometimes baking cookies that still taste fresh after a trip in cross-country delivery trucks. When weather permits, he goes to the park with his fiancée and two dogs named Zeus and Bear.
