Brittany Steiner
Brittany Steiner, MS, LPC is a professional counselor who believes all people are wired for growth and everyone can attain peace during the storm with a healthy mindset, spiritual attunement, and acknowledgement of the huge role our bodies play in mental health. She uses somatic therapy practices to rewire the nervous system to allow the body to feel calm, alive, and present. This is an essential part of her work as this rewiring allows the body to feel safe to open up to experience difficult emotions that are likely suppressed or have felt overwhelming.
Brittany also uses CBT to promote healthy thinking styles, and IFS and attachment theory to help clients gain and maintain healthy relationships with others and understand themselves as parts that make a whole. Brittany readily acknowledges the power of nature, music and dance, a good diet, and restful sleep to cultivate mental health and encourages her clients to do the same.
Brittany is dedicated to guiding individuals in cultivating a healthy perspective towards themselves, their surroundings, and their interactions. She strives to help others implement fun and creative coping strategies that lead to meaningful change. She believes that attuning your mindset while using your body to identify and manage emotions facilitates healing in the mind and body.
In her sessions, Brittany is very down to earth, and open about overcoming her own personal experiences as she believes using those experiences helps foster connection and learning. She uses humor often and always carries the goal of creating a safe space for clients to work through life’s issues. Brittany offers her unwavering support as a companion through the healing journey, finding personal fulfillment in witnessing clients achieve their goals and find solace.
The start of treatment with Brittany begins with getting to know clients, setting goals, and collaborating to build a customized treatment plan to fit the unique needs of those she serves. She sees couples and individuals 5 years and older who may be experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, mood disorders, stress, low self-esteem, borderline personality disorder and other personality disorders, adjustment disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and affair recovery.
Brittany is well-trained in CBT and mindfulness-based CBT, somatic therapy, IFS, Exposure Therapy, DBT, ACT and Gottman method for couples. Brittany is also well-versed in high-performance skills and uses personal development strategies with those who seek it. In general, her treatment style can be found at the intersection of research-based, culturally-sensitive, and tailor-made.
Education and Experience
Brittany completed her undergraduate studies at California University of Pennsylvania. First, starting as a biology major with the intention of pre-med studies and then switching to psychology in her 3rd year of undergrad studies. She completed her master’s degree online through the University of Phoenix and graduated with honors while raising two small children (that she loves with every ounce of body) and with the support of her awesome husband and extended family. Brittany is very passionate about continuing education and makes staying current in evidence-based research and treatment a top priority. She is currently a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success and helps others with personal development.
Hobbies and Interests
In her private time, she can be found hiking with family, playing video games, traveling, laying on a beach somewhere, eating good food, praying, cracking up with her husband, doing yoga, biking a beautiful trail, baking bread, doing a bible study, listening to music or podcast, dancing, reading, meditating or doing nothing because that feels good too.
