Becki Sarring, a Licensed Professional Counselor, offers compassionate mental health support to individuals navigating various challenges, such as adjusting to new life hurdles, coping with serious mental health diagnoses, seeking personal growth in themselves or their relationships, and feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands while experiencing isolation.She understands the profound depth of pain, confusion and isolation that individuals may experience as they navigate their mental health journey. She recognizes the courage it takes to seek help and acknowledges the vulnerability in opening up about one’s innermost thoughts and emotions.
In Becki’s therapeutic approach, she seeks to create a safe space for every person to be themselves and to normalize the struggles that her clients may be confronting. Whether it’s grappling with the aftermath of trauma, wrestling with the complexities of relationships, or struggling to prioritize self-care amidst life’s demands, Becki empathizes deeply with the struggles her clients face.
Becki has extensive experience working with clients diagnosed with a wide range of conditions, including Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, OCD, Schizophrenia, Dissociative disorders, Personality disorders, as well as comorbidities related to Depression and Anxiety. Becki is dedicated to empowering her clients, fostering confidence and resilience as they navigate their unique journeys. She destigmatizes mental health challenges through compassionate understanding and non-judgmental support, emphasizing that seeking counseling is a courageous and valid step towards healing.
Becki’s approach to therapy is holistic, client-centered, and rooted in evidence-based practices. In sessions, Becki addresses the interconnectedness of mind, body, environment, and behavior. Drawing from her diverse background of working with survivors of domestic violence, families with youth at risk of out of home placement, and adults in a partial hospitalization program as well as in an outpatient family medical setting with integrated healthcare professionals, she tailors her approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual person. Becki incorporates modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), DBT, trauma-informed care, mindfulness techniques, and Solution-Focused Therapy to facilitate healing and growth. Becki is particularly enthusiastic about whole-life wellness, empowering clients to cultivate resiliency skills and make sustainable changes that promote overall well-being and lasting transformation.
Education and Experience
Becki holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Waynesburg University and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. She is a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with advanced training in integrated health and wellness and suicide intervention and first aid. Currently, she is working towards certification as an Animal Assisted Intervention Specialist and is a certified therapy dog trainer.
Hobbies and Interests
Beyond her professional endeavors, Becki finds joy in spending quality time with her husband and pets, seeks out sunshine any chance she gets, and nerds out on learning new things through podcasts or audiobooks. Becki enjoys spending time volunteering for a therapy dog organization with her two dogs. Becki is honing her skills as a dog training apprentice where she combines her passion for animals with her commitment to mental health and wellness, as she deeply believes in the healing power of the human-animal bond. Becki also believes in modeling what she shares with clients and spends part of each day embracing her own journey towards health and well-being.
