Chuck Morinello
Asking for help can be difficult, but you have come to the right place. I’m Chuck Morinello, a licensed professional counselor with over 14 years experience in counseling and psychotherapy. It is my goal to help individuals, couples, and families on issues such as addiction, marriage/family issues, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, anger, stress, grief, and more. I utilize a variety of methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Gottman Method.
I understand that therapy can be intimidating. It is my focus to create an open, honest, and non-judgmental atmosphere for clients. I will work with you to identify client-centered goals and help you to take the first steps in achieving lasting changes.
Education and Experience
I earned a BA in Psychology from West Virginia University, where my passion for understanding human behavior and helping others began. After completing my undergraduate degree, I decided to further my education and professional skills by pursuing graduate studies. This led me to enroll in Duquesne University, renowned for its robust counseling program.
During my time at Duquesne, I dedicated myself to mastering the principles and practices of effective counseling. After three years of rigorous coursework and hands-on training, I earned a MSEd in Counseling from Duquesne’s School of Education. This achievement laid the foundation for my career in mental health services.
Shortly after obtaining my Master’s degree, I embarked on my professional journey by accepting my first counseling position at an outpatient clinic. There, I worked extensively with clients dealing with substance use disorders, gaining valuable experience and insights into addiction therapy and recovery processes.
In 2014, I was awarded a state license in professional counseling, a significant milestone that officially recognized my qualifications and competence as a counselor. Since then, I have been committed to helping clients achieve personal growth and healing. My practice has expanded to include a wide range of issues, and I continue to apply my expertise to support individuals, couples, and families in overcoming their challenges and improving their well-being.
Hobbies and Interests
In my leisure time, I enjoy music, movies, exercise, and the outdoors. I am a connoisseur of good cuisine and I love to travel when I get the chance. I am happiest when spending time with great friends and close family.
