Stephanie Davis
EMDR Therapist
Stephanie Davis, MEd, LPC, is a licensed professional counselor who is focused on helping individuals better understand the potential impact of past traumatic experiences on current difficulties. Stephanie is also an EMDRIA Certified EMDR therapist and offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to treat trauma in addition to other therapeutic approaches to promote healing and growth including Solution-Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Stephanie strives to create a compassionate and judgment free environment, where a person can voice needs and learn important skills associated with their emotional well-being. Stephanie believes that everyone has the potential to increase supportive beliefs and behaviors, resulting in personal growth and increased happiness. Through a supportive relationship, Stephanie works with each client to develop a treatment plan that matches client needs with appropriate strategies and goals. In addition to providing trauma therapy, Stephanie’s areas of knowledge include substance use, PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, couple’s dynamics, and conflict resolution.
In addition to providing individual therapy, Stephanie uses an integrative therapeutic approach with couples, one which tailors a plan that best fits a couple’s needs. Stephanie has also completed training to use the Gottman Method with couples. Treatment in couple’s therapy includes but is not limited to teaching strategies toward improved communication, emotional regulation, in addition to facilitating nurturance and empathy with one’s partner. Stephanie also uses her therapeutic skills to decrease the emotional triggers often associated with relationship conflict, teaching couples how to increase support for themselves and others.
