Annie Pichi
My name is Annie Pichi, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) passionate about supporting children, teens, and adults on their journey toward emotional well-being and personal growth. I have expertise as a child therapist, adolescent therapist, teen therapist, and adult therapist offering compassionate support and fostering essential skills to help clients navigate life’s ups and downs. I believe in cultivating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel seen and heard, empowering them to create meaningful change in their lives.
My approach is holistic and person-centered, drawing from evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, play therapy, and more, all tailored to fit your unique needs. I work collaboratively with each of my clients to develop personalized strategies that embolden them to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. In therapy, we will work together to understand what sorts of thoughts and behaviors are keeping you stuck and aim to foster new ways of thinking, feeling, and being. Mental health struggles like anxiety and depression have a tendency to blur your vision of purpose and meaning. Together, we will identify your values and strengths and move toward a purpose-driven life that is deeply satisfying and rewarding.
Education and Background
I graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology and a minor in Psychology. During my time at Penn State, the importance of mental health became very apparent to me. The more I learned about the body and the mind, the more I began to understand how interconnected the two are. This fascination with holistic wellness coupled with a love of helping others led me to pursue further education at the University of Pittsburgh, where I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Since then, I have had the privilege of working with many individuals and families, helping them to achieve healing through therapy. I have years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families who are navigating a variety of changes, experiences, and stressors. I specialize in treating a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, trauma, body image, self-esteem, and life transitions.
Hobbies and Interests
Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, who bring so much joy into my life. I am a firm believer in the power and importance of relationships, so I try to spend as much time with my loved ones as possible. I love staying active and working out, which helps me to maintain a healthy body and mind. In a similar way, I love cooking, trying new restaurants, listening to my favorite podcasts, watching reality TV, shopping (or as I like to call it “retail therapy”), and playing with my dog, Rocky.
