Renee Ludwig
Renee Ludwig, MA, LPC, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as a licensed professional counselor and PhD candidate in counselor education and supervision. With a focus on addiction counseling, Renee specializes in supporting individuals through their recovery journey, drawing from a diverse toolkit of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, art therapy, and relaxation techniques.
Known for her nurturing and empathetic approach, Renee creates a safe space where clients feel empowered to explore their emotions, learn, and enhance self-awareness. She adopts a holistic approach to therapy, tailoring her interventions to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Committed to addressing the “whole” patient, Renee tackles a variety of challenges, from stress and trauma to anxiety and depression often associated with substance use disorders. She prioritizes the development of strong therapeutic relationships, laying the foundation for transformative growth and healing.
Education and Experience
Renee boasts an extensive educational background that has shaped her professional journey. She obtained her B.S. in biology from Pennsylvania State University in 1999, followed by a second bachelor’s degree in science education from Point Park University in 2004. Initially embarking on a career in education, Renee served as a dedicated science and STEM teacher in the Aliquippa School District from 2004 until 2023.
In 2011, Renee embarked on her master’s in counseling, igniting her passion for the field, particularly addiction counseling. Her transition to counseling unfolded organically, leading her to join Gateway Rehabilitation Center in 2016. Here, she facilitated groups and provided individual and family therapy to individuals navigating the recovery journey. It was during this time that Renee discovered her calling to support those struggling with addiction.
