Gregory Troup, MSW, LCSW, is excited to be part of the team here at The Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh in the Canonsburg office, as well as, the North Shore location. His goal is to make you feel welcomed and comfortable as you begin the therapy process. Whether you are new to therapy, or not, Greg will be there to help you to start healing to live your best life. Greg offers individual, couples, and family therapy for children, youth, adolescents, adults, and older adults. His therapy style is eclectic, person-centered, and strengths based. Greg is offering treatment for a variety of needs including: autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, disruptive behavior disorders, family issues, intellectual disabilities, intimacy issues, mood disorders, parenting concerns, physical disabilities, school or workplace stress, and trauma related disorders. Greg is very experienced working with the LGBTQ+ community. Greg has worked with children, youth, adults, and older adults, including several special populations: the underserved, racially diverse, aging, LQBTQ+, differently abled, medically fragile, and victims of abuse and neglect. Greg’s former clients have described Greg as a highly effective therapist, he is known for being gregarious, helpful, caring, and a good listener.
Greg formally worked as a Mobile Professional Care Manager with a local insurance company, as a social worker, and as a therapist through various community programs. Greg is a 2013 graduate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work, where he earned a master’s degree in Social Work. Greg is also an Advisory Board Member at Carlow University for the Social Work department so he is knowledgeable about college stressors. Greg first got into the field of helping over 13 years ago beginning his work as a Crisis Hotline Worker and Family Preservation Specialist where he taught parenting skills and encouraged active co-parenting. Through the diverse job experiences, clinical work, and education Greg received, he completed his clinical supervision and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Greg enjoys spending time with his family traveling and going to theme parks. Greg enjoys going to the beach or going on a cruise. Greg enjoys movies and family activities such as mini golfing, ax throwing, playing video games, and bowling. Greg likes to watch television and is always looking for a new show to enjoy. To relax, Greg enjoys mindfulness, reading, meditation, and listening to music.
