Natassia Dickey, MS, LPC is a passionate licensed professional counselor who believes that everyone is capable of achieving the change that they desire for their life. She recognizes that can change can be challenging and strives to serve as a guide and, when necessary, an empathetic teacher to help each person through the therapy process. She practices through a holistic, trauma informed lens that integrates various evidence-based treatment approaches to achieve healing, resolve emotional and psychological conflicts, and experience growth. These treatment approaches include Existentialism, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Energy Psychology, Positive Psychology, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Transpersonal Psychology, and Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention.
Natassia’s counseling focus is all about establishing a life worth living by reducing emotional distress and enhancing quality of connection. Her specialty is with co-occurring mental health and substance use diagnoses. Her experience is in helping people regain control, recover parts of their lives that have become lost, and explore areas that have become problematic. Within the counseling setting, she establishes a safe, non-judgmental environment where people can gain self-awareness, find meaning, and achieve desired goals related to problematic/addictive behavioral patterns including sex addiction, multicultural issues, self-esteem, anxiety, unhelpful thinking patterns, identity, motivation/change, life changes, emotional regulation, mind-body connection, co-dependency, family issues, spirituality, relationship issues, and traumatic experiences.
Natassia holds a Master’s of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University. Prior to becoming a senior psychotherapist at Counseling and Wellness Center Pittsburgh, Natassia worked as a clinical therapist in various licensed drug and alcohol treatment centers in the Greater Pittsburgh area. Natassia also believes in the power of service and giving. She engages in advocacy work for survivors of sexual assault, she co-leads community based workshops to help educate people on recovery and reduce the stigma of addiction, and she mentors adolescents as they try to identify future career paths.
Natassia lives her wellness by filling her life with activities that promote mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health. She practices yoga and daily meditation and faith building. She enjoys creating and engaging in workout routines. She embraces every opportunity she gets to be in nature. Natassia values time with her family and spends her free time with hobbies related to cooking, reading, gardening, listening to music and going to concerts, coloring/drawing, and gaming.
