Dr. Heather Doyle
Heather Doyle, Ph.D., NCSP, is dedicated to providing psychological assessment services including ADHD and Autism testing (no ADOS) for individuals of all ages as well as counseling services for individuals, couples, and families. With 19 years of experience providing counseling and comprehension assessment as a certified school psychologist, she offers invaluable insights and support to those facing complex challenges.
Dr. Doyle specializes in understanding, diagnosing, and treating various issues, including anxiety, depression, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), attachment and trauma-related concerns, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), executive functioning difficulties, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, memory and information processing challenges, mood disorders, giftedness, and social-emotional and behavioral concerns.
Her personalized approach ensures that assessments are tailored to the unique needs of each individual, creating a solid foundation for effective psychological, psychiatric, or educational interventions. What sets Dr. Doyle apart is her commitment to ongoing support. After completing an evaluation, she continues to work with individuals to help them understand their results and navigate the recommendations effectively. The goal is to provide each client with understanding, hope, and a sense of direction through compassionate insight into their unique functioning and developing an individualized plan to help.
Dr. Doyle’s counseling services skillfully integrate a diverse array of therapeutic methodologies—ranging from behavior modification and art therapy to cognitive-behavioral therapy, humanistic therapy, mindfulness, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy—ensuring that her clients receive a tailored approach to their unique circumstances. Dr. Doyle’s professional journey is characterized by her unwavering advocacy for individuals with disabilities and mental health concerns. She is dedicated to ensuring that children and adolescents with disabilities receive the services they are legally entitled to at all educational levels. Her expertise in guiding families through the special education process, along with her adeptness in consulting and collaborating with educators to develop appropriate services and interventions, attests to her commitment.
Education and Experience
Dr. Doyle earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Visual Arts from Bethany College, graduating magna cum laude. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in School Psychology, as well as an Education Specialist degree in PreK-12 Educational Leadership from Kent State University.
Dr. Doyle is a nationally certified school psychologist and holds school psychology certification in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Additionally, she has obtained a superintendent certification in Pennsylvania, along with both superintendent and pupil services administrative specialist certifications in Ohio.
Throughout her 22-year career, Dr. Doyle has focused on providing services for children and adolescents, along with their families, across diverse settings. These include hospitals, residential programs, schools, clinics, private practice, and in-home programs. She has served as a school psychologist, school counselor, and director of special education and pupil services in public school systems in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Furthermore, Dr. Doyle has worked as an adjunct professor, teaching both undergraduate and graduate students at Ashland University and Kent State University. Her publications and presentations have centered around topics such as social and emotional learning, ADHD interventions, relational aggression, parent training, executive functioning skills, autism professional development for educators, social skills training, and psychoeducational testing.
Dr. Doyle was a fellow in the Pennsylvania Fellowship Program for Special Education Leaders in 2019, was named Ohio School Psychologist of the Year in 2014, and received the Service & Leadership Award from Kent State University in 2009. She has also contributed to grant projects focused on post-secondary transition services for students with special needs, promoting healthy eating and exercise in schools, and the Ohio Dyslexia Pilot Project.
Hobbies and Interests
Dr. Doyle’s belief in the lifelong pursuit of personal growth and learning is not just professional, but also personal. She finds joy in exploring diverse topics such as art, design, fashion, health, architecture, classic cars, music, nature, history, and sports through reading, watching documentaries, visiting museums, and traveling.
Her love for animals is evident in her adoration for her cocker spaniel, Dolly, and her two black cats, Roxy and Lola. Dr. Doyle also finds comfort in listening to music, painting, watching Pittsburgh sports, reading, watching film and television, and spending quality time with her family and friends. These personal interests not only enrich her life but also contribute to her holistic approach to counseling and assessment.
