Abbigail Rinard
Abbigail Rinard, MS, LPC, and Doctoral Candidate has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Anger Management Therapy, Sand tray therapy and Play therapy. Abbigail has experience working with acute and pervasive diagnoses that include but not limited to: Anger management, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Impulse Control, Sexually Maladaptive Behaviors, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Mood related disorders. Abbigail has helped clients with grief and bereavement, communication, time management and a wide range of other Mental Health/Psychiatric Disorders.
Abbigail has experience with providing intake assessments, case management and developing and providing clinically appropriate treatment plans that include an effective continuum of therapeutic support to individuals, couples and families based on mental health assessment and diagnostic needs. Abbigail’s goal is to provide comprehensive holistic treatment to empower individuals to reach their full potential. Abbigail offers caring, compassionate and professional services to her clients to reach their goals.
Education & Experience
Abbigail holds a bachelor’s degree from Westminster College and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where she graduated with high honors. Abbigail is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, a counseling honors society, as well at the American Counseling Association. Abbigail is currently a Doctoral Candidate at Duquesne University for Counselor Education and Supervision. Abbigail is also an adjunct professor at Westminster College and clinical supervisor for master’s student at Northwestern University.
Abbigail has professional experience in working with children, adolescents and family members in order to enhance communication and personal self-growth. Abbigail has worked in conducting child and adolescent grief and bereavement groups, Outpatient Equine therapy, Partial Hospitalization and inpatient level of care. Abbigail continues to conduct clinical research on various topics involving the counseling profession, specializing in trauma informed care with children diagnosed with ASD. Abbigail has extensive experience in intake assessments, mental health screenings, treatment planning, discharge planning and case management.
Abbigail was promoted to Clinical Supervisor in 2023. In her new role as a clinical supervisor she provides comprehensive support to counseling interns and prelicensed therapists. She offers guidance, mentorship, and oversight to ensure their professional development, while also promoting ethical practice and maintaining high-quality standards in client care.
Abbigail is also trained in Sound healing.
