Rachel Taylor
Rachel Taylor is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and Nationally Board Certified Counselor (NBCC). Rachel has been active in the social work field for over 17 years. She is experienced in Borderline Personality Disorder Treatment as well as treating individuals diagnosed with anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, and ADHD. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), complementing her expertise in Art Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
Rachel loves learning and sharing new concepts with her clients and colleagues to incorporate into their everyday life. As a firm believer in the mind/body connection, Rachel will often incorporate Jungian and mindfulness concepts into sessions. She is open to all spiritual backgrounds and respects each individual’s personal beliefs. She is whole heartedly inclusive and supportive to those in the LGBTQ+ community. Rachel believes that the most valuable part of being a counselor is guiding her clients to love and accept themselves. She finds joy in assisting people to reach their goals and go on to lead rewarding lives.
Education & Experience
Rachel has a Bachelor’s degree in Art Therapy with a double minor in Human Services and Psychology from Seton Hill University. Rachel obtained her Master’s Degree in Counseling with a concentration in Community Counseling from Waynesburg University.
In the past she has performed intensive outpatient, parent child reconciliation, case management, and wraparound (IBHS) therapy. Past work settings and experience for Rachel include community group homes, the court system, and at-risk youth in schools.
Rachel especially enjoys leading and co-facilitating groups for adolescents and adults that incorporate the creative arts and psychoeducational teaching. She feels rewarded in mentoring as a clinical supervisor for Master’s level clinicians. As a volunteer of Give-An-Hour, she has provided mental health services for those who have served in the military and their loved ones for almost a decade.
