David Jerome
Family Therapy Near Me
I’m David Jerome, MA, LPC. As a licensed professional counselor and U.S. Army veteran, I bring over 18 years of experience in the mental health field. My passion lies in providing individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy and counseling to those seeking positive change and growth.
I believe therapy is a powerful tool for self-discovery and empowerment. Together, we can navigate life’s challenges, manage stressors, and cultivate a sense of belonging. By improving communication, coping skills, and mastering grounding techniques, I help my clients find clarity and resilience in their lives.
My goal is simple: to facilitate positive change and enhance overall well-being. Through collaborative efforts, we can understand your needs and goals, taking meaningful steps towards lasting satisfaction and fulfillment.
With a diverse background in areas such as chemical dependence, teen counseling, anxiety, depression, stress management, self-esteem, behavioral disorders, anger management, and more, I offer a holistic approach to therapy. By exploring the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we can develop effective coping strategies for a more fulfilling life.
My philosophy is straightforward: Keep it simple, and don’t overthink it. Together, let’s embark on a transformative journey towards greater clarity, resilience, and peace of mind.
Education and Experience
After graduating high school in 1991, I enlisted in the United States Army, serving four years in an active duty role as a combat medic. My service included two years in Europe (Germany and Croatia) and two years at Ft. Hood in Texas with the 1st Cavalry Division.
Following my military service, I pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Building on my experience, I furthered my education at Waynesburg University, earning a Master’s of Arts in Counseling and becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania.
Throughout my career, I have held various roles including therapist, program developer, program manager, and executive director for an inpatient dual diagnosis facility, specializing in drug & alcohol and mental health treatment.
Hobbies and Interests
I reside on a cozy hobby farm alongside my family, where we enjoy the company of ducks, horses, chickens, cats, and dogs. Actively engaged in my children’s sports endeavors, I find fulfillment in coaching baseball. Above all, my greatest joy is simply spending quality time with my loved ones.
