Tori Hill
I’m Tori Hill, MA, and I specialize in supporting individuals like you who are navigating trauma, stress, anxiety, burnout, and physical illness, as well as symptoms of depression such as sadness and a lack of interest in activities you once enjoyed. If you find it challenging to give yourself permission to rest and engage in therapeutic wellness activities, you’re not alone. I understand the hesitation that comes with starting therapy—sharing personal details with a new therapist for depression, anxiety, or any struggle can be daunting. My own experience with therapy, guided by a compassionate and understanding professional, has shown me the profound impact a supportive therapeutic relationship can have on personal growth and change.
My approach is holistic and client-centered, designed to meet you where you are in your journey. I use a variety of modalities, including client-centered therapy, emotion-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and art therapy. By emphasizing overall wellness, I incorporate techniques like meditation, breathwork, and self-reflective questioning to foster growth and change. To ease any initial anxiety, I often start our sessions with brief mindfulness meditation, creating a calm and welcoming space for our work together.
Education and Experience
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Slippery Rock University. My educational journey equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of psychological principles and clinical techniques essential for addressing various mental health concerns. The rigorous coursework and hands-on training during my studies have provided me with a solid foundation in therapeutic practices, including evidence-based methods and approaches.
In addition to the academic training, my personal experiences have significantly enriched my professional approach. These experiences have deepened my empathy and understanding, allowing me to connect more meaningfully with clients. My background ensures that I bring both academic knowledge and personal insight into my practice, fostering a well-rounded and compassionate approach to therapy.
Hobbies and Interests
When I’m not working, you might find me attending group workout classes, with hot yoga being a current favorite. I also love reading and making updates to my home and office spaces to create healthy, healing environments. These activities help me maintain balance and ensure that both my personal and professional spaces remain nurturing and supportive.
