Hello, I am Sharon Bittner, a PMHNP who helps manage medications for various behavioral health issues. Each person who comes to see me has their own unique story. As a psychiatric provider who focuses on mental health medication management, I consider it both a privilege and a profound responsibility to support patients through their mental health journeys. Many people have mixed feelings about psychiatric medication, with concerns about dependency, stigma, identity, or just a fear of the unknown. I’m open to those conversations without judgement. My aim is never to push someone towards medication, but to help them make the best decision for their own well-being. Ultimately, this work is about partnership. My patients are experts on their own lives. I bring clinical knowledge, and they bring self-knowledge. When those two things come together, that is when real progress can happen.

I specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions, offering compassionate, evidence-based care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and emotional dysregulation with a focus on child and adolescent population. However, I do provide services through the lifespan until age 60.

Education:

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gannon University in 2005 and my Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in 2022 with a focus on psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Over the years, working in a variety of clinical settings has broadened my knowledge and deepened my passion for providing quality patient care.

Hobbies and Interests:

I was born in Phoenix, Arizona, but I’ve been living in Northwestern Pennsylvania for over 30 years. I live in Erie with my husband, our two great kids, and two rescue dogs. I love seeing my kids enjoy what they’re passionate about, and I really enjoy live music and discovering new kinds of music. Even though I still love amusement parks, I don’t ride the rides as much anymore—I usually just hold onto everyone’s stuff now.
