Charlotte Phillips, Ph.D., LPC, is a licensed counseling clinician providing online counseling to individuals, couples, and families in Pennsylvania. In addition to being a therapist, she is a college professor, and an adventurist by nature. She believes the greatest journey we will embark on is the one into ourselves. Dr. Phillips acquired her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a focus in community psychology, she obtained her master’s degree in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, and her Doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision. Dr. Phillips currently teaches both graduate psychology and graduate counseling, and often emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to health and healing through a Mind, Body, Spirit approach in her lectures. She integrates Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Humanistic Theories into her treatment with clients, often letting the client’s or family’s personal needs dictate which is most appropriately applied. This fluid approach allows her to treat a wide array of psychological conditions, pulling from each theory as needed, in a professional clinical setting.
Dr. Phillips worked as a family therapist for several years at an inpatient treatment facility located on the beautiful Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. During that time, she acquired experience working with co-occurring disorders, families, and couples struggling with addictions, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Dr. Phillips also comes equipped with experience working with women’s issues, particularly related to post-partum depression, pregnancy loss, and grief.
When she is not working, Dr. Phillips can be found hiking some of the most challenging peaks across the United States and visiting National Parks including Mount Mitchell, Acadia, and the Shenandoah Valley. Dr. Phillips believes in the beautiful expression of universal love, of which she experiences regularly through her ongoing practice of her Catholic faith, her frequent journeys into nature, and in the quiet moments in between life’s busiest days. She believes that in the face of life’s most challenging tasks lies the opportunity to dive deep into the authentic self and gather the knowledge and wisdom needed to progress forward. She holds tight to the belief that each person comes equipped with the potential to live life fully, with acquisition of true happiness, only after accepting this challenge wholeheartedly.
