

Alexia Mahr, Intern Marriage & Family Therapy, Sliding Scale
Alexia Mahr is a masters level counselor at the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh. Alexia believes in the capacity for change and that everyone can move their lives in a positive direction. As Alexia is working on her PhD degree at Duquesne University she has the latest and most current information to help individuals, couples, and families move beyond conflict and suffering toward a more peaceful and meaningful bond. Alexia also lends her professional focus to intimacy, sex therapy, and therapy for the LGBTQI community, Alexia’s dissertation is focused specifically on LGBTQIA issues.
Alexia started her academic career by earning a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology at the State University of New York at Old Westbury. She is currently receiving her Phd or Doctoral Degree at Duquesne University and is studying counseling with a specialization in marriage, couples, and family counseling. She plans on furthering her career by continuing to get her PhD. in Counselor Education and Supervision. Alexia hopes establish herself as a counselor and provide counseling and support to the Pittsburgh community. Alexia has been with the Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh since doing her internship at the center as a masters level counselor.
In her spare time Alexia, loves connecting to the people and nature around her through music, cooking, travel and horseback riding. She hopes to visit every state in the U.S. and eventually visit each continent.
As a masters level counselor at The Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh, Alexia is working with self-paying clients and is also proud to offer a sliding scale.
