Chance Kolhmeyer, MA, NCC, graduated from Geneva College with her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Chance has obtained her Bachelors of Arts in Applied Psychology with Florida Institute of Technology. She has had a passion for helping others since the seventh grade and has been looking forward to working in the field ever since and is eager to be offering telehealth counseling with our center.
Chance’s experience includes working with adolescents, young adults, and families. Most recently, she worked with college students where she gained empathy for the population. Chance has a history in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, relational issues, suicidal ideation, self-harm, self-esteem issues, adjustment disorders, day-to-day stress, and time management. She utilizes a variety of techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities including Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness. Chance believes it is important to identify all aspects of an individual’s life that impact their well-being including their physical health, support systems, work or school environment, and faith/spirituality in this process.
Chance creates a warm and welcoming environment. She understands that everyone is unique, so what may work for some may not work for others. She likes to individualize treatment with her clients and meet them where they are. She feels blessed to be able to help people through life’s trials and tribulations. Throughout your therapeutic experience, it is Chance’s hope to find something that works well for you. She thoroughly believes in self-care, and therapy is one of the best tools out there for it.
In Chance’s free time, she likes to garden, adventure, hangout with friends and family, try new places/things to eat and new shows to watch. Sometimes it is nice to simply do nothing at all!
Reaching out and taking the first step is not always easy, but it is a pivotal step to stimulating change and growth. Chance will be providing individual therapy to adults via telehealth. To schedule an appointment, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
