
Kelley Knowles -Charlow, MA, ATR-BC, LCAT, provides client – based therapeutic intervention to individuals, couples and families at The Counseling and Wellness Center Monroeville office. Kelley is a vibrant therapist that believes in her client’s ability to address all personal life changes and challenges. She appreciates each client uniquely, and approaches opportunities to work alongside client’s collaboratively and exploratively. Kelley works eclectically to suit the needs of the individual while integrating family – systems approaches, modalities and treatment interventions. Her extensive history working with client’s life adjustments, LGBTQIA+, trauma, divorce, relationship issues, conflict resolution, domestic violence, eating and substance disorders, parenting, behavioral, emotional, developmental, and physically challenged clients makes her well- versed and qualified to find the best solution for your life. Kelley’s philosophy is to help clients reach their highest potential, and guide families toward living more harmonious, balanced lives together. Kelly holds a masters degree in mental health counseling and she is completing her course work for her PhD in Marriage and Family Counseling. Kelly is proud to offer the sliding scale to her clients in the Monroeville Counseling Center.
Kelley has vast experience working with persons from differing, cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. Because she is originally from the Caribbean, she has worked extensively with immigrant populations addressing the various challenges accompanied with adapting to new cultures. She has also worked closely with adoptive families, children and adolescents that identify with trauma, abuse, and any relational/ marriage and family issues. Kelley also has significant experience working with children and adolescents, especially those with mood disorders, developmental delays, PTSD, and conduct disorders. She is a board – certified Art Therapist and uses Art Therapy, when appropriate, as an integrative tool to improve mental health services.
Overall Kelley believes effective therapy is about concise goals, collaboration between the therapist and the client, therapeutic expertise, and the client’s willingness to make attempts to improve their life. As your therapist, Kelley will possess the utmost, genuine concern for your challenges and work with you to bring a new sense of clarity, healing, and wholeness to you and/or your family. She strives to create a safe, nurturing atmosphere in which clients feel supported in their efforts to change and grow during any stage of their lifespan.
In her personal time, you can find Kelley laughing unequivocally with friends, enjoying the changing seasons outdoors, creating life – sized sculptures, and singing and dancing her favorite songs. Kelley has a love for life, believes laughter can help everyone heal, and that no one lacks the ability to create positive change in their life.
